Differential Diagnosis for Anaesthetists

ROTEM® rapidly performs whole blood analysis near the patient.

ROTEM® monitors the success of treatment within minutes.

Differential Diagnosis

ROTEM® rapidly performs whole blood analysis near the patient, providing information on:

  • Hyperfibrinolysis
  • Requirement for factor, fibrinogen or platelet substitution
  • Extent of dilutional coagulopathy
  • Heparin and protamin dosage monitoring

ROTEM® monitors the success of treatment within minutes, allowing effective individualised therapy!

Effective bleeding management

Fast and effective bleeding management is one of the most vital challenges for anaesthetists in intensive care medicine. Specific strategies may vary from cardiac and vascular surgery to tumor resection or transplantation, orthopaedic surgery, trauma care or obstetrics. Nevertheless, modern trauma management generally recognises that whilst blood and blood products are potentially beneficial for patient care, they also pose substantial potential risks.

Reduced blood transfusion volumes

ROTEM® based diagnostics and treatment control through individualised therapy have been shown to reduce blood transfusion volumes and to offer cost savings. ROTEM® is especially useful in (hyper)fibrinolysis, a coagulation disorder that is hard to detect with other methods. It is the ideal tool to assess the efficiency of several coagulation factors, including fibrinogen and the administration of corresponding factor concentrates. ROTEM® is the most comprehensive diagnostic system for near-patient coagulation management and for reducing bleeding risks in a point-of-care setting (POC).
